Our precision crafted bridges are made from only the FINEST materials to ensure the very best fit and durability and to be aesthetically pleasing.
Why should I replace missing teeth?
Your appearance is one reason. Another is that the gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain is put on the teethat either side. A gap can also mean your 'bite' is affected, because the teeth next to the space can lean into the gap and alter the way the upper and lower teeth bite together. This can then lead to food getting packed into the gap, which causes both decay and gum disease.
What is a bridge?
A bridge is made by putting crowns on the teeth at either side of the space, and then joining these two crowns together by placing a false tooth in the space.
This is all made in the laboratory and then cemented into place with special adhesives.
Another option is an adhesive or "Maryland" bridge. This has wings that are bonded to the back of the supporting teeth with very little drilling involved.
What are bridges made of?
Bridges are usually made of porcelain bonded to non-precious metal as these provide excellent strength and are ideal for longer bridges that replace several teeth. There are also new bridges made entirely of a special type of strong dental porcelain (Zircon). These too are strong, long lasting and aesthetically pleasing.
Can I always have a bridge to replace missing teeth?
Bridges are only possible if you have enough strong teeth with good bone support. Our dentist will help you decide which is the best way of replacing missing teeth.
What will a bridge cost?
Costs will vary according to the size and type of bridge you need. We shall always provide you with a price with your FREE dental treatment plan before beginning any dental treatment.
ALL OUR CONSULTATIONS ARE FREE (IN PERSON / BY PHONE / BY VIDEO CALL) AND WITH ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION.
SO TOO ARE OUR PERSONAL DENTAL PLANS AND CHECK-UPS.
How long will a bridge last?
If you exercise proper dental hygiene and visit your dentist for regular checkups, your bridges can last for many years. There are a number of variables that can affect bridge longevity, though it is not uncommon for a dental bridge to last for 10 to 20 years.
REMEMBER! Check-Ups are 'FREE-FOR-LIFE' at Platinum Dental Budapest whether you have your treatment with us or not!
Can I have teeth which attach to the jawbone?
Yes, by having implants. The success of this technique means you may be able to replace missing teeth without crowning other teeth. Implants are a popular alternative and we offer the finest treatments at excellent value for money.
Please see 'IMPLANTATION' under the heading 'TREATMENTS' on our home page.
The Dental Bridge Procedure
During the first visit, you are given a local anesthetic so we can prepare the teeth required to support the bridge. If the support teeth are decayed or badly broken down, we may have to build them back up before they can be used as support teeth for a bridge.
Next, we take an impression of the prepared teeth with a putty-like material that is used to create a model of your teeth. Your bridge is fabricated based on this model by a skilled lab technician so that it precisely fits the prepared teeth.
While your bridge is being fabricated, we may fit you with a temporary bridge so the teeth and gums can be protected until your permanent bridge is ready.
To complete the dental bridge procedure, you must return to the dental office for a second visit to have the bridge fitted and cemented.
This can all be completed in as little as 3 days at Platinum Dental Budapest.
